Finally, a couple of good flying days came our way once more. while there were some field maintenance tasks to be tended to, we still managed to get some good flying time in also. Nick brought a new SPAD, (Bud Lite) and a smoke kit for his Gasser. We've include some pics of it inflight, be sure and check out the series of four pics which show him testing it out. One of the photos appears to have no plane in it, but he was hiding in the smoke cloud, to reappear seconds later. Dave Nix's SPAD sported new Packer colors, and a bigger engine. We all managed to get the work of the day done, and still have a fantastic time flying.

Finally, a calm, rain free day for flying. Dave Nix (Kodak) tried out his new plane (an Extra- 300-S) for the first time. Here are a few photos of it.

A beautiful flying day again! We had a nice turnout, and the moon even showed up for the day.... check out the pictures of Marc "flying to the moon" :) The last last four photos are of Roger, who put his plane through some neat maneuvering. We enjoyed a cook-out and then had our meeting afterward.

A nice calm late afternoon to fly. Dave (Kodak) Nix took his r/c power parachute for a spin and Dick's Mud Duck was out. Dick showed up later and got some good flying time in, just before a very special visitor flew in to personally pilot the Mud Duck. It's nothing short of amazing who shows up at the Platteville Area Modelers field! How lucky it was that Kodak Nix, the club photographer, was on hand to get photos of the special event. We saved the best for last in this group of pictures :)

A lovely evening to fly. Dave "Kodak" Nix maidened his SPAD which are the first in this series of pictures. He designed and built the SPAD himself, using no plans other than of his own design. A little trimming was all it needed and it flew like a champ. Way to go Kodak! Roger brought his 40 size Ugly Stick, which is a very striking plane in the sky. The next photos are of Roger and the Stick. The next photo is of Wendell's plane.

July 8 and 9, 2006

A few pics of the weekend. A couple of Nick in an experimental biplane at the Platteville Airport Fly in Breakfast. Then Nick flying the Mudduck and Andy's electric Sig. The last pic is of Roger with one of his planes. We held a meeting this weekend with Andy, Marc, Wendell, Tom, Roger and Kodak in attendance.

July 22, 2006

A nice, although very warm, day for flying. Roger flew his Orline (kit mfg.) "Buccaneer" done up as a WWI French fighter. It would be similar to a British "Bristol", and the German "Eindecker"; both WWI monoplanes with round engines. It sounds alot like an old round engine when it runs. It is quite the plane to see flying! We've included several pictures of it and one of Roger working on it on the ground preparing for flight. Kodak flew his SPAD, which has worked out to be a good, dependable flying and aerobatic plane.
We may have a few more pics from the weekend... ya just never know!

July23-06

Well, here we are, and we DO have more pics for you from the weekend. First ones are of Wendell flying his plane. Included in the pics are a couple of Wendell. Also a pic of the really nice helicopter Wendell brought on Sunday. Also flying again was Roger, who brought a different plane to work out. It's yellow, but not the same plane he flew on Saturday. Check out the pics... nice, nice plane.
Anyway... enjoy. Another fun day at Platteville Area Modelers.
