Lots of flying over the last few days. Doc brought the new Mayhem he built, and we were treated to some great flying from him. Dick got some serious flying time in also, so we have one of him on the ground and another of the plane in flight. Kodak got his parachute drop working on his SPAD, so there were a few sky droppers over the Platteville Area Modelers field that evening. Wendell flew his plane, but also brought a plane that he'd built some forty plus years ago. With some tweaking, we saw the little orange plane fly again! It did however require hand launching. We held our meeting on Sunday night. Kodak put together a slideshow on DVD of many of the club planes, so for those lucky enough to see it, it was quite a treat. Job well done... Well, enough... on to the pictures for this week.

A few pictures of a couple of our members' new planes. Dave Nix has a new sailplane. Very graceful in flight.
August 31-06
A few pics of Doc's new Mayhem in flight and Roger putting one of his many planes through its paces. Some excellent maneuvers Roger! Both of these guys can really fly... The last two pictures are of Nick Weber's new creation. Leave it to Nick to take two planes and make one out of them. Not sure whether to say it's Nick's new plane or Nick's new planes. See for yourself what he has built now. Nick's photos are courtesy of his friend Eric Kalenauskas. We thank Eric for his permission to use them on our site.

Nick Weber stopped by the field for awhile today and he flew Dave "Kodak" Nix's newly designed SPAD. We are always happy to see Nick stop by when he gets back to the Platteville area. Here are a few pictures of it.

A little breezy, but how much more perfect could a September day be? Perfect for Dick to get some fly time in with Dick's Four Star Sixty. The last picture is of Dick with the plane. Great flying, guys!

A calm Fall day as far as wind was concerned, but what a rollercoaster for weather! In between the rain, club members Kodak and Marc managed to get in some flying time. Kodak started the day off early at the North field with his Extra300S, then was chased away by an incoming storm. Later in the day, he returned with the 300S and one of his SPADs to fly with Marc in between rain showers. Marc had his Mayhem up and about showing off his excellent flying skills. Kodak got some pictures of his planes in flight. (It's slightly hard to photograph your plane while flying it... :) Anyway, on to the pictures.

A cold, blustery day found a few hardy club members flying at the field. Kodak was flying his new Ugly Stick, Andy had his Seig Electric in the air for a workout, Marc flew his Four Star Sixty and Dick was right on their heels with his plane. Shown in the following pictures are Kodak with the Stick, Andy with his Seig and Marc with his Four Star.

A nice Fall day to do a little flying. Marc and Kodak flew at the North field to enjoy the day. Marc was flying his Cloud Dancer.. made totally from the beginning to the last piece by hand. No kit, no shortcuts. A truly beautiful flying machine with a truly skilled craftsman at the controls. Marc took time to catch a quick picture of Kodak with his Ugly Stick on the ground. The rest of the pics are of Marc's Cloud Dancer.

Even though there has been a great deal of flying going on during the month, today was the first chance Kodak had to get behind the camera instead of the radio control to catch a few new images. He flew one of his SPADs... no pics today however, but we have Roger Chapman with one of his many planes. Today, he flew his Air Core. Great flying by both! With temps in the high 50's, how could anyone resist such a day to fly in November. On to the pics of the day........

An unseasonably warm December day lured Kodak and Roger to the North field for a few flights late today. Gray skies, but warm temps helped to make it a fun time for both fliers. Kodak flew his SPAD and Roger had his trusty Aircore in flight. Here are a few pics of Roger, then Kodak's SPAD. All of the members at the club want to wish all of you the happiest of Holiday Seasons and the best of the best for 2007....

Another mild December flying day. Kodak and Roger put their planes through the paces much to the oooohs and ahhhhs of two visitors who came to check out the North field with them. Kodak flew his Ugly Stick and Roger flew his half sized A Whizzard. What a joy to watch them fly! Kodak has less than a year of flying under his belt, but surely can make you sit up and take notice when he has a plane in the air. Roger is a seasoned flyer who never ceases to amaze those who see this man at the controls. Although the Whizzard is a small plane, it was unbelievable the maneuvers he put it through. A joy to see to be sure. Way to go, both of you! Now, on to a few pictures of the day. Kodak's is on the ground, shown with the control equipment.
